Hi, I’m Brooke, I am married to my husband of 17 years, a mom of 2 amazing kiddos, a teacher, and a health coach. I love inspiring women to get started and continue with their health journeys. I am excited to share some things that help me to feel stronger and better each day!
My morning routine is crucial for a successful day. I have only been on this journey of a strong morning routine for about 18 months and it has made a huge difference in my days. It’s not always easy but it has now become a daily habit so I am able to consistently get up and get straight to it.
CREATE HABITS. Habits are formed through consistency.
- DO NOT hit snooze, turn the lights on immediately-it wakes you up quickly!
- Put on your workout clothes.
- Drink a glass of water before anything else-get that water in.
- Have some quiet time-you can even add in calming music and candles. This can be meditating, journaling, breathing, praying, reading, etc. (Journaling is something I had no idea I was missing out on, it makes me take time for my thoughts and gets my mind in the right space for the day.)
- Move your body. Working out gets your endorphins going, which helps set the mood for your entire day.
- Have a healthy breakfast. (I make my superfoods shake every morning while my kids are having their breakfast and then I drink it on the way to work!)
REDUCE DECISIONS. Take away the decisions and the waste of time, prepare ahead.
- Lay out your workout clothes the night before!
- Have the ingredients and tools ready for your energy drink/breakfast/smoothie.
- Plan out your workouts for the week.
- Choose your clothes for your day.
TRUST THE PROCESS. “No matter how small you start, start something that matters” – Brendon Burchard
- Start small, add in a few of these things at a time.
- You have time for them and they are worth it!
- The routines will come, just keep showing up.
- Your mindset will shift and you will begin to crave the mornings to yourself.
- Your body will appreciate the workouts and the healthy start.
- Choose better for yourself and you will be able to be better for your family.
