We can all benefit from time spent on self-care and relaxing. I’m sharing my top five favorite ways that I like to practice a little self-care. Self-care varies from person-to-person and I’m always open to hearing more ways to incorporate self-care and relaxation into my routine. 1. Relaxing Bath Soak
One of my favorite ways to feel relaxed is to take a nice, warm bath filled with my favorite Epsom salts. This is my favorite brand here, which I get at Target (maybe it’s an excuse to go shopping?!). I light a candle, listen to relaxing music (easy listening or classical piano) and R-E-L-A-X. As a mom of two, these few minutes to myself are the perfect refresher that I need.
2. Warm Beverage
I either enjoy a freshly made cup of coffee or tea. For something on the sweater side, I like Yogi Kava Stress Relief Tea (here), but there’s really SO many different types of teas that I enjoy. I love reading the numerous benefits of herbal teas, too, which is an added bonus!
3. Get a Manicure or Pedicure
Whether I schedule a professional manicure or pedicure, or give myself one, I always feel so pampered and relaxed with freshly painted nails. It makes me feel more put-together and beautiful. Some of my favorite colors are deep pink, maroon and red. I noticed I tend to stay within the red/pink color palettes! Pink is my favorite color after all! One of my favorite brands of nail polish is OPI, which I purchase at Ulta (as well as all of my make-up!).
4. Watch my Favorite Show or Read a Book
My all-time favorite show is The Office! Michael Scott and Jim, as well as Dwight, just make my day. I laugh in every single episode and the show never disappoints. Sometimes I’ll dive into a good book or audiobook.
5. Treat Myself
Depending what I feel in the mood for, I’ll treat myself to a beautiful lingerie set (Victoria’s Secret is my favorite), a sweet treat from Tasty Donuts in Cambridge Square, and the ultimate luxury – my very own boudoir session! Complete with professional hair and make-up, outfits and more. AND, as an added bonus, I get to see how beautiful I look on a regular basis when I see those photos!
